CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) is an IT certification which demonstrates your understanding and competence in designing and managing effective cloud security systems. In particular, the certification focuses on your inventory of advanced technical skills required to ensure the security of data, applications and infrastructure hosted on cloud computing platforms. It also incorporates best practices, policies and procedures established and recommended by global cybersecurity experts and renowned cloud industry practitioners.
CCSP is created and managed by (ISC)², a consortium of cybersecurity and IT professionals with a membership of over 140K worldwide. (ISC)² offers a range of information security certifications aimed at different areas of expertise within the industry, including the popular CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
CCSP was introduced in the RSA Conference 2015 on data security. The certification originated with (ISC)² intention to develop further on the CISSP certification. CCSP aims to feel the gap for an experienced-based cloud security certification in the market for IT professionals and cloud engineers with advanced platform knowledge and skills.

To be CCSP certified, you need to pass the evaluation that gauges your expertise across the six security domains of the (ISC)² CCSP Common Body of Knowledge. These domains cover all the areas that you, as a cloud security professional, should have a command over to conduct your day-to-day job successfully. In the exam, the variable weights are attributed to the domains. The topics and their weightage are below: The CCSP exam is conducted online. You can register and take it through Pearson VUE in testing centres worldwide. The exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions to be answered over 4 hours. You need to secure at least 70% to qualify for the certification.

The CCSP exam is computer-based, and booked and taken through Pearson VUE in testing centres worldwide. It consists of 125 multiple-choice questions which are answered over the course of 4 hours. The pass mark is 700 out of 1000 possible marks.
To be CCSP certified, you must fulfil particular prerequisites. It includes at least five years of cumulative, paid work experience in information technology. Three years of this experience must be in information security, while one year must be in one of the six CCSP domains.
However, if you do not possess the prerequisites for CCSP at present, you can still take the exam and become an Associate of (ISC)². After this, you will have six years to earn the required work experience for the certification.
(ISC)2 Membership :
Post qualification, you will have nine months to complete the (ISC)² endorsement process, in which your application is endorsed and signed by an (ISC)² certified professional or (ISC)² themselves. It also involves an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF).
What is (ISC)2 :
Your CCSP certification allows you to become a member of the (ISC)² community, providing access to benefits including a magazine subscription, events, textbook discounts and webinars.
In general, CCSP certification is most suited for experienced IT and IT security professionals, positioned in security Architect, Engineer, Manager and Analyst roles. However, (ISC)² also provides the following list of roles which either use or require CCSP certification:
